PCA500 Self Priming External High Head Pump. Self-priming capability allows the pump to prime itself up to 5' above water level after initial filling. Includes 3" inlet/outlet unions. Features an extra large strainer basket that reduces cleaning frequency. Very quiet motors with open drip proof design, though weather protection is recommended. Self-priming pumps can purge air from the suction line and operate above water level without a check valve in the suction line, though using a check valve speeds up the priming process and ensures quick flow when the pump is plugged in.
