PCA300 Self Priming External High Head Pump. Self-priming capability allows the unit to prime up to 5 feet above water level. Includes 3-inch inlet and outlet unions. Features an extra large strainer basket to reduce cleaning frequency. Motors operate quietly with open drip proof design, though weather protection is required. Self-priming pumps purge air from the suction line and prime themselves after initial water filling. These units can sit above the water level without a check valve in the suction line. However, using a check valve speeds up the priming process and ensures quick flow when the pump is activated.
